Thank you for this article. It's very timely because I'm investigating Substack as an option at the moment. I'm a bit peeved at Medium's policy of withholding tax from non-US writers earnings via the partner program. We submit our tax returns within Australia, and shouldn't have tax withheld by a US platform. There doesn't seem to be any other way around this either.
